We invite you to a profound and soulful tour along the European side of Atyrau. You will explore monuments to great historical figures, memorials of remembrance, and places where history lives. The tour concludes with a cozy tea ceremony at the Kiiz ethnocafé, where you can reflect on the experience over a cup of fragrant national tea.

  1. Monument to Sultan Beibarys
    A symbol of Kazakh pride. A slave who became the Sultan of Egypt, he represents the spirit and historical significance of Kazakhs on the world stage.
  2. Isatay–Makhambet Square
    A central site dedicated to freedom fighters. It reflects the power of the people’s uprising against injustice in the 19th century.
  3. Monument to Fariza Ongarsynova & Monument to the Steppe Plant Kumarshyk
    Fariza – a prominent poetess and voice of the Kazakh woman, fighter for culture and justice.
    Kumarshyk – a life-saving steppe plant during famine. Its monument symbolizes survival and collective memory.
  4. Dina Nurpeisova Square
    Dedicated to the legendary kuyshi and People’s Artist. This square honors women’s contributions to Kazakh music and culture.
  5. Victory Park
    A memorial complex:

    • Outdoor military equipment exhibition
    Your guide will tell stories of heroism and tragedy of the 20th century.
  6. Monument to Zhumeken Nazhimedenov
    Poet, writer, and co-author of Kazakhstan’s national anthem. This monument honors his role in the country’s spiritual independence.
  7. Monument to Khiuaz Dospanova
    The first Kazakh female pilot and WWII participant. Her legacy is one of bravery and selfless service to the Motherland.
  8. Tea Ceremony at Kiiz Ethnocafé
    A warm gathering over national tea and sweets. A cozy setting for discussion and reflection.
