From 1936 to 1942, Abu Sarsenbayev headed the Kazakh State United Publishing House. By this time, he had already attracted the attention of discerning readers with the collections “Volga Waves”, “Gift of the Heart”, and “Oath”, dedicated to the life aspirations of his contemporaries. He volunteered for the Great Patriotic War and served in the army until 1946. From the battlefields, Abu returned with the famous collection “White Cloud.” This collection became a symbol of his pure, bright poetry. In 1947-53, he worked as the director of the Kazakh Educational and Pedagogical Publishing House.
